Hi I’m looking to buy a starter AR-15. I don’t need anything fancy. I’m trying to see if there’s anything out there for around 5-600 bucks.

@NJoutdoorsman - Hey there - not sure what your timing is, but there is a possibility that the NJ Assault Weapons Ban legislation is about to go bye-bye in a couple of weeks (maybe by 08/10/26).

I get it - there may be some here looking to unload “starter” AR’s to go fund something more exotic if the AWB does go away.

If you’re going to buy a AR15. Go for an affordable for now. So you learn how it work and you can get familiar with them and then build your own. Because to this day thier is always something on an AR you’ll always changes. Also consider transfer fee as well when buying online. Most places don’t change if you buy directlyfrom an FFL. If you’re local in the wayne area. Us me my fee is 25 per transfer. Best of luck.
