Try the Kimber mags, even the 7 rounder with pinky rest is bigger than the sig mag, fits my big hand.
For me, those would be my Ruger Mark III Hunter, my STI 1911 in 40 and my Cajunized CZ SP01 Shadow with an SRO dot
Ruger MK II long SS barrel with compensator
Anschutz 1913 super match .22 for me. Used to compete in Olympic style shooting and would split cards length wise for fun (just needed a white paper to see where your misses were going ) but was cool to be able to split cards relatively easily.
Also my old .177 air rifle was stupid accurate as well. Made a perfect hole in a pencil.
Right now it is my SA 35.
Card splitting was great fun. I shot an Anschutz 1413 Super Match on my college team, that rifle was the predecessor to your 1913.
International competition doesn’t allow for optical sights, and you can’t see a sideways playing card at 50 feet through peep sights, so the secret was to make a slit in the center of a target, insert the card, run the target down range, then line up prone until the card was invisible. Shoot a center 10, and the card was collateral damage. These aces were consecutive shots; I kinda like the one that didn’t split the card cleanly.
That’s a tough question for me…
I like shooting my Sig MK25 the best and get good results.
That said, my CZ-75 SP01 Tactical gives me the tightest groups. I believe its due to the unique CZ tight slide lockup
There’s a couple here that are pretty good shooters.
My S&W Model 41 (target-grade .22) was the most accurate; until I basically wore it out. The breech face and slide are heavily battered, and S&W estimated a whole lot to repair it. (It’s a Bangor Punta-era gun … no “lifetime” warranty).
The quasi-replacement, a Ruger Mark III, is a close second. It’s a basic model, short barrel and fixed sights, but it will tear-out the x-ring, as long as I do my part.
Another is an old Springfield 1911 in .45. Years ago, someone worked it for bullseye target shooting. Did a great job.
Most accurate (and amazing) revolver is a Dan Wesson pistol pack. With the 8 inch barrel installed, it is flat-out amazing.
Depends what day it is. Some days, they’re all terrible.
My S&W 686 stainless is generally lights out with 38 wadcutters.
