Nope, not a new member to the forum, but even better! A new member to my family. Say hi to Samson! He’s a 11 week old, Fox Red male Labrador Retriever. We picked him up on our return RV trip from Key West last Wednesday. ![Samson2](https://njgunforums.net/uploads/default/original/2X/e/ebd5025eaeef8a4b9d0d54a4034309c446352122.jpeg) Some of you might remember my other thread where I was trying to save my old Lab, Sniper, from cancer. Unfortunately, after exhausting all medical options, I lost him at the end of January. They start behaving at 7 years hahaha. I have a 4 year old white ( from a yellow line) and a 8 year old black one that can hide in a shadow. ---

We finally got to a really good (and calm), place, and then I lost him, instead of having a few great more years. Now, I’m back to square one, with the new T-Rex… LOL… ---

So, two more months down the road, and the jury is still out on if this dude is in his final home… I think I might have got duped… I think I really have Satan and Velociraptor hidden in a puppy costume… man, what a challenge this dude is. Yeah? I’ll see your Velociraptor/Satan mix and raise you a cross between a T-Rex and a Great White Shark. He’s a sweet boy to my wife and I…but he’s an absolute terror to the landscapers and Amazon delivery drivers. We ‘found’ him in our neighborhood a few months ago. He had been abandoned by some shithead. We weren’t looking for a new dog, but we adopted him anyway. Say hi to Buddy! The 75lb American Bully. That’s how Sniper was, I trained him to be a Level One personal defense dog, which for a Lab, was never expected. If you were someone he didn’t know and came to the storm door, you’d think he was coming through the glass to rip out your throat. If I had him outside on his long lead, he would drive delivery guys all the way back to the road. However, if I happened to pop the front door open, he’d rush out and give the driver kisses to death, and blow his cover. If we were out walking on his leash, I could put him into defensive mode, where someone coming by would really worry that he was going to rip them to schreads. Depending on how things go with this new dude, Samson, I’m hoping I can channel his agressiveness into Level Two, when he gets a little older. All he wants is to sit in my lap and lick my face. We were playing tug of war with his rope the other day. He was growling and snarling at me, like he was a vicious attack dog, I snarled back at him, and he started crying and whining. His eyes got all big and sad, like I was mad at him. Had to reassure him it was just all playtime. He climbed up on my lap and spent the next 30 mins giving me kisses. I was soaked in dog slobber! He ain’t hurting us, but God help the bastard that tries to hurt the wife or I. I should add that we are working with a Bully Rescue organization, called ‘LoveaBully’(I think that’s the name). They have been excellent, providing us with no cost training from a professional dog trainer. They are absolutely outstanding to work with. The trainer comes out twice a month and has developed training programs for him..training us to train him. He’s smart, a quick learner, and loves to please us. I ain’t worried about him in the least bit. ---

So, I got what I paid for. But unfortunately, I think it’s time to find him a new home, where he can have some other dogs to play with and a larger yard to run. He’s a American Lab or Field Lab, not the more popular English Lab, and as such, has a higher activity level. He’s definitely not a couch potato. He’s not interested in just laying around the house. Being that he’s really smart and learns quickly, he could make a great hunting dog. So, looking to see if anyone here is interested in having him join their home. I think he would do well in a home with some other dogs to play with and some yard to run in. I just don’t have the energy, being retired, to run him all day. If you’re interested, let me know. He’ll be 7 months old on the 24th.
