So who is going to be our choice for the GOP candidate for Gov

In case anyone was wondering about the 10% sales tax thing from Jack, as expected it’s BS and taken out of context. Now, will he start pushing back? I sure hope so. Those ads have been playing for weeks now.

I have to honestly say I’m probably sitting this one out. I just can’t stop thinking of what Chris Christie did to the Republicans in nj.

Sherril will like murphy and Jack will be like Christie, we are only going to get any 2A relief from other states court cases or from any future scotus decision. No relief from dems or rinos in nj , since there’s not a politician past or present who doesn’t lie and make fake promises I am looking after my financial future here.

As a life long voting republican , patriot, veteran it sickens me to have to do this but the nj republican party has only themselves to blame for picking chatterili as their candidate when we had the radio guy as an option.

Revenger,

So because you can’t get exactly what you want you’ll withhold your vote that would, at the very least, go towards making things not worse.

I’ll never understand this reasoning.

This race is looking very VERY close. We need every vote. If Sherril gets in we’re going to have to fight ADDITIONAL anti-2A legislation for years.

Please get your head right.

Sitting it out is the same as voting for Sharrill, the exact same. You’d might as well go to the poll and pull Democrat straight down the line.
Please cast your vote but look at it as choosing the better of two choices you’re not happy with.
And remember, there are other seats on the ballot, by not showing up you’ll effectively be voting Dem on all of those as well.

Whatever you believe Christie did, if a demo was elected, it’d have been 1000% worse.

If you do not want to vote for Ciaterelli, at least pull the lever for the republicans as a vote AGAINST socialism, wokeism, and all the other far worse things that can happen if a dem is elected.

Not according to a recent poll. She’s up by 8 points.

…"In the closely watched race for governor of New Jersey, Democrat Mikie Sherrill receives 49 percent support, Republican Jack Ciattarelli receives 41 percent support, and Libertarian Party candidate Vic Kaplan and Socialist Worker Party candidate Joanne Kuniansky each receive 1 percent support, according to a Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pea-ack) University New Jersey poll of likely voters released today. Six percent are either undecided (4 percent) or did not provide a response (2 percent). "…

A Repub winning will be just like Christie.. a speed bump. If the state legislature doesn’t get flipped Red, which it probably won’t, it just slows the march to Socialism in the state.

It will give you a little more time to plan and move out!

The DNC just gave Sherrill an additional 1.5MM for her campaign, they’ve now dumped more money into this race than they ever have before for a NJ gubernatorial election. Which says to me they are at least a little nervous about the outcome.

I think the biggest area where Jack is in trouble, is with the Indy’s. From the poll I posted:

Independents are mixed, with 45 percent backing Sherrill and 41 percent backing Ciattarelli.

We know elections are won in the middle. I looks like Jack is in trouble there.

I don’t know how much I trust the Quinnpiac polling system
They tell us that it’s weighted, but they never tell us by how much
Remember this ?

Read something yesterday that said Jack has a better chance than most would think. Why, because he is the only candidate that is a NJ native. Sherrill is a carpetbagger.

If Ciaterelli can appeal to voters as a NJ native, he has a chance.

Here’s the methodology. And you’re right. I take these polls with a grain of salt, until I see WHO they polled. The 2016 elections proved to me how much they’re flawed:

PARTY IDENTIFICATION QUESTION WORDING - Generally speaking, do you consider
yourself a Republican, a Democrat, an Independent, or what?
LIKELY VOTERS
PARTY IDENTIFICATION
Republican 27%
Democrat 33
Independent 36
Other/DK/NA 4

Responses are reported for 1,238 likely voters with a margin of sampling error of
+/- 3.9 percentage points, including the design effect.

Thank you. I’ve been screaming about this at the top of my lungs to other people (including one of Pressler’s volunteers) who just look at me funny and say we’ll worry about that next time, as if we have an infinite amount of time for this. I would rather see the Legislature flip completely red and lose the governors race as that would be a solid foundation to build a better state rather than just having the “speed bump” in place.

Exactly!!

He who WRITES the laws, has the power. The Governor is just a figurehead.

What is the point of this discussion? should we all NOT vote… should we vote for Sherrill… Never vote for a republican Gov until there is a republican majority legislature?

It seems like what is being talked about is everything BUT electing a republican governor, which is what is on the table in front of us right now?

And what will that accomplish, if the state legislature doesn’t change?

Not exactly. The Senate President gets to choose which bills are brought to the floor. He can just withhold a bill he doesn’t like regardless of how well it is written.

Yep. which is why we NEED a Repub controlled legislature, so the bills POSITIVE for us, make it to a vote.

It’ll help if those bills don’t promptly get vetoed by a democratic governor.

Exactly. That’s why we need the WHOLE pie. Only half of the pie doesn’t get us anywhere.

There’s still a month or so before the election. Hopefully, based on recent events in the country, more of the Indy’s will wake up in this state.

I wonder if the upcoming debate, this Sunday, will change any minds.

Yeah, lets have the debate on Sunday when everyone is watching football.
I hope it changes the minds of the 10 or 20 independents who actually watch it.
