I have 2 very similar AR pistols, one is .300 BLK and the other is 5.56.
I am very conscious of loading the wrong caliber in either one, and having a bad day at the range. I ran across a local company (to me) that makes these caliber ID tags.
Helps avoid an ‘oops!’
I am in no way affiliated with this company, I just found their product handy for my needs, and thought someone else might as well.
They are for M-Lok handguards, and are very nicely made aluminum.
Definitely a good idea. I used etched ejection port covers back when I had an AR chambered in .300 Blackout. Then different colored mags to go with it.
I never load my mags during a cease fire, First mistake for some unknown reason 5 years ago at the range I did.
5.56 mags on my right 7.62x39 mags on my left, the mags were all 10 rounders second mistake
no marking on the mags and both rifles are in the AR platform. The range was declared Hot
I had the 7.62x39 ar on the table and I was going to continue to shoot, I removed the chamber flag and loaded a mag hit the bolt release flipped the safety off and pull the trigger and I hear puff I thought I had squib. I dropped the mag and realized what happen.
