Colonel Callahan will retire effective Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
I wonder what political hack they will appoint to replace him.

I don’t think so. “They” appointed a civilian years ago who took badge #1 and there was backlash. He wound up being appointed to the Trenton P.D. instead. Yeah, nothing wrong with that.

So “they” can just appoint someone with no previous ties to NJSP and that person will then wear the NJSP uniform?

Only a former trooper can be appointed to the title of colonel. Any other appointee will be the superintendent.
Have only heard 1 rumor so far.
