You can’t turn on the TV without being bombarded with this case. Why is this woman so important? There are kids out there that are missing with their families wondering why they aren’t being given this attention. I’m sorry this woman is missing. Why, because her daughter is a TV celebrity, does she deserve this coverage. Is she really that important to everyone give it this much coverage? Sorry Savannah, but there are loads of missing children out there. Did you ever bother to cover their stories? End of rant……..

Just talking about that with my wife. I feel bad for the family and all, but its not like anyone particularly important is involved. I wonder if the MSM is using the story as a diversion from talking about ICE raids and the bill. Like they are using the story to take a breather.
What could possibly be so interesting or important about Guthrie that the news is ignoring, if not neglecting other far bigger stories.

Based on the TVs at the gym, it’s all the news channels. I think this is the test case for seeing how bad the influence of mass media has broken down. In ye olden days, this would be where some epstein docs were released, and the news cycle was forced to some missing hot chick or similar.
This is why I fookin’ LURRVVVV’s me some X/twitter. You can deep focus on particular news/subject and not get bombarded with other stuff.
It can get isolating though, so I still do a general news.google.com check every day just to see what the media thinks I should see.
Everybody here is right. If it weren’t for someone of notoriety, we would barely, if at all, hear about this case. Now, I put out there a thought for all of us. With the revelation of new door bell cam video today I have a disturbing thought, one that will not be addressed until this case is solved one way or another. Then, get ready for the privacy rights blowback which I predict will be huge. The victim here did not have a subscription to upload her bell camera to the cloud. However, even with no camera, the video was recovered by: “This recovery involved accessing residual data from backend systems to obtain images and video that could provide evidence in the case.” Just like a lot of computer software, there seems to be a back door to access video that was never meant to exist. The experts are leaving their answer at just what I put in quotes because the same access is used in cases of espionage and no further explanation should be expected. That is, like I stated earlier, until there is an immense amount of blowback regarding privacy issues. It seems that even the cameras that aren’t supposed to be recording are doing just that.
Same thing with Siri and Alexa.
Even if you don’t speak their name, they are still picking up audio and sending it to the servers.

I was concerned about that, so I put my security system on a separate network connected to a router that has no internet gateway. No way to communicate with the mother ship. On occasion I manually configure a gateway for camera firmware updates.
Which is exactly why I have a closed circuit surveillance camera system, that records and saves video on my property only on a local DVR.
Why people VOLUNTARILY put all these Cloud based listening/recording systems in the lives and homes, totally baffles me. Just like the people who use AOL. Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo ,etc email systems for all their personal and financial communications.
