The shoot is on… Sunday, April 27th, 2025

STAFFORD FORGE WMA CLAY & RIFLE SHOOT

Howdy folks. Spring is just around the corner, and it’s about time we get together again to turn some money into noise. Come join us at the STAFFORD FORGE WMA shotgun and rifle range for a morning of clay busting and paper punching fun.

200-3531422351

WHO: You, family, friends.
WHERE: STAFFORD FORGE WMA trap and rifle range.
WHEN: 4/27/25
TIME: 0900 (we will be setting up at 0830).

If you will be joining, please let us know how many will attend and what you are bringing so we can plan for supplies.

Shooting commences at 0900 and keeps going until we get bored, run out of ammo, or hear mom calling us home. Clay shoots usually go until about 1300, clay AND rifle shoots go longer, leaving plenty of time for everyone to stop in at any time and join the party.

As always, these meet-ups are informal gatherings, just plain old fun to promote shooting sports and encourage training, please feel free to bring friends and family. Kids 12 and over are welcomed, but must be under parent/guardian supervision 100% of the time.

Shooters of all experience levels are welcome, if you have never shot clays, or want some tips on improving your clay busting skills, this is your chance to dust off that shotgun you bought years ago and gain some needed experience.

What you will need.

Bring your shotgun or rifle (NO HANDGUNS), as much ammo you want to shoot (#7.5 or #8 lead target/field loads recommended for trap), and depending on how many targets you want to bust, a carton of clay pigeons would be appreciated. We will supply two to three cases.

Rifles up to 30 caliber class are allowed on the 100 yd rifle range. During cease fires you must clear your rifle, open the action and insert a chamber flag.

Don’t forget mandatory eyes and ears. Also recommended is a chair, sun screen, insect repellent, and something to drink.

If you don’t have a shotgun and just want to see what clay shoot’n is all about, a loaner pump action will be available.

Basic Checklist

  • Shotgun & ammo
  • Eye and ear protection (mandatory)
  • Clay targets (optional but recommended for high volume shooters)
  • Shell pouch (optional)
  • Rifle & ammo (up to 30 cal class, 308Win, 30-06Spr, 30-30Win, 300BO)

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend to due to me volunteering to help at a Bullseye match at one of my clubs. Have fun everyone

There’s a 50/50 chance of rain Sunday…

Looking worse in the am, sigh.

Yeah, not looking great but we’ll see. I’ll cal it Sat night. As a landscaper, if I stayed home every time the forecast called for rain I’d have had a lot of work to catch up on for days that never rained.

If it gets called off we’ll just do it the following Sunday.

POSTPONED

The weather Sunday is too iffy. It will be either raining or foggy all day.
