That was no joke. That was life on the internet in the 80βs and 90βs. Upgrading from a 28.8kbps to 56kbps was huge!
It is remarkable that my internet connection is now 2Gbps in each direction - more than 35,000 times faster!
Many years ago I am shooting Knockdown Steel at Old Bridge. First stage went great. Second stage I started missing, pretty bad. I stopped, looked at the gun, aimed at a close target, pulled the trigger, watched where it hit the dirt. I unload the gun, clear it, but tell the RO I am not done. I look at my DOT, and the thing is just about to fall off! I did not loctite the mounting screws and it almost walked off. I tightened them with my fingers, loaded the gun, finished the stage just to make sure the optic was still close enough to use. Very embarrassing!
