Englishtown refunding $150 of $200 PTC Fee - NJFOS/NRA attempting to replicate to other NJ towns

Hopefully someone in Highlands reads this.

From NJFOS group discussion on Facebook

Okay people listen up.

If you truly want your town to rebate the PTC fees, you need to step up.

Stop asking “when is my town is gonna do it”? YOU need to make it happen!

Download the policy brief from NJFOS website, email it to each council member, the mayor, manager, and clerk. Tell them you will be speaking on this topic at the next meeting. Type up your speech using AI to tweak it to your needs. Highlight the fees pre and post Bruen. Show them how these fees are nothing more than attempts to make it harder on law abiding citizens. Ask them to uphold their oath to defend the constitution.

Whatever you feel is needed, say it.

I asked Joe LoPorto to proofread mine.

Keep it under three minutes. On the night of the meeting, bring copies of the briefs and your comments and give them to the clerk. And keep going back to each meeting.

Be seen and heard. It took me four meetings to get it done, but I got it passed. You can do it too

Per discussion on NJFOS, Wayne NJ may be about to approve the $150 PTC fee refund also. We’ll see…

Linwood wants to keep the fee:

It is a story we have heard before, this time with different actors. A request to the city of Linwood, New Jersey, to rebate the $150 municipal portion of the state-mandated carry permit application fee is falling on deaf ears, with one council member stating that fees are a good deterrent to keep firearms out of the hands of people who “can’t afford it.”…

Any word on if Manalapan will be returning fees?

I have emailed the Mayor and each council member of Berkeley Township individually and have gotten a response from the Mayor and one Councilman (see response below). I have posted this on Firearms Syndicate on Facebook asking for attendance at the next Town Council meeting and maybe get a speaker to represent us at this meeting and at the very least bombard the Mayor and Town Council with emails and really didn’t get any response I highly doubt I’m the only CCW in this Town and I can’t believe CCW holders in this Town do not want to even try to abolish this $150 fee. Rant over

So I spoke at the Bayville Council Meeting on 4/20/26 and the results were very favorable I’m sure this is going to come out in our favor very soon because of the private conversations with members after the meeting. There was three of us there I was the only Bayville Resident the other two gentlemen were from Lacy and Beachwood I can not believe no other Bayville residence showed up. The next meeting is Monday May 18 2026 and if it shows up on the agenda something could very well happen for us at this meeting there are CCW Holders on the Council. I urge Bayville CCW holders to show up at this meeting and if it’s not on the agenda maybe speak in support of this resolution. Don’t just sit back and reap the benefit of the heavy lifters.

Many people on the Facebook Page New Jersey Firearms Syndicate are asking is someone doing this in this Town or that Town well sitting behind your Keyboard waiting for someone to do the heavy lifting is not the way to make it happen. I sent an email to the Berkeley Township Mayor and each Town Council Member with a short letter and the NRA Resolution that can be found on the Facebook page. At the April Council meeting Myself and Tony Rockhill and Michael Doc Glenn spoke me being the only Bayville resident the other two gentlemen are not Bayville residence but show up at these Council meetings to speak generously donating there time and knowledge to help get these Resolutions passed the Council was very receptive Our Council is not Anti 2A. We showed up again at May’s meeting and spoke again and got the vote. The only reason we did not get a full $150 refund is because the Chief of Police said there is manpower associated with the review and processing of the applications. The point of this post is you can’t sit around and wait for somebody else to get this done you need to be proactive these Town Councils are not going to do this on there own without any push from the residences of the Town. This is not easy but it’s not that hard either all it takes the nerve to get up there and say what’s on your mind. You now have your template now get off your ass and make it happen let’s get this done Statewide. Rant Over. Thanks Keith Durgin

If you reside in Plumsted Township in Ocean County and recently had a Permit to Carry approved, you are eligible for a refund. The form is now available on the township website; simply email the completed form to the police secretary. There is no need to go to the department just to get the form since it is online. However, you will most likely have to go there to pick up your refund, though they could possibly mail it to you.
