Democrats facing crisis as more than 2M voters leave party in four years

Fudge "Only, I didn’t say fudge” them. They have no power, and no authority.

Carries the same weight as telling me I can’t buy standard capacity mags.

Last week I learned that a serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office. These individuals answered “no” when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers’ licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.

This happened under the previous administration and, upon learning this information, I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of what occurred. I also ordered the removal of any residents from our voter rolls who were erroneously added between June 2023 and June 2024. The new MVC Administrator that I appointed has begun the process of replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system.

Our preliminary analysis shows fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered for the first time because of the error voted. They were registered as Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters and were scattered across the state.

I want to underscore how seriously I take this matter. As a military veteran who swore an oath to defend our Constitution, and as a former federal prosecutor, I believe the integrity of our elections is fundamental to our democracy. I am appalled by the reckless failures that allowed this to happen and the lack of transparency shown by those in charge at the time. This failure didn’t occur under my watch, but accountability starts now. I am taking action to prevent anything like it from occurring in the future and make sure those responsible are held accountable.

As the Trump Administration tries to weaponize elections for political gain, I am ensuring we protect our elections. Let me be clear: Donald Trump has zero credibility on the issue of election integrity. For more than ten years, he has worked to undermine Americans’ faith in our elections by spreading lies about legitimate election results, attempting to overturn a free and fair election, encouraging an attack on our Capitol when he couldn’t accept the will of the voters, and defunding election security at the federal level.

The difference is simple: when we find a problem, we don’t hide it, deny it, or invent conspiracies. We investigate it, we fix it, and we tell the public. That’s what accountability and good governance look like, and that’s exactly what my administration is doing.

New Jerseyans should have confidence that every eligible citizen can vote, every lawful vote will be counted, and every reasonable step will be taken to protect the integrity of our elections. That’s my responsibility, and it’s one I will never stop fighting to uphold.

Just heard about this.

What about the ones before, are they grandfathered in?

Nice to finally see NJ under the microscope on multiple fronts.

OK Mikie… What about the individuals that answered “Yes” to the question, and lied? How many of them were there?

LOL… The TDS runs deep, with this one… Hey Mikie, your own state PROVED there’s an issue with “voter integrity”..

Oh look, she’s off a bit on her numbers… What a surprise… I knew it had to be a lot worse:

On Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said that the department identified 250,000 noncitizens registered to vote in New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, and Nevada.

*He said that as many as 35,152 noncitizens were registered to vote in New Jersey and called on the state to cooperate with the Trump administration’s efforts to tighten election security. *

On Tuesday, Sherrill said that New Jersey had no intention of cooperating with the president.

I don’t believe for a second it was an ‘error’, and I sure as hell don’t believe only 6000 were registered.

That’s a load of bovine excrement.

Notice 6600 are from a one year period only. Aside from the likelihood that that number is really much higher, there is no mention of all the non citizens that have been registered previously and are probably still on the voter rolls. NJ has had motor voter registration for a lot longer than 2023.

I have an employee of my landscaping business that uses my business address as his mailing address because other tenants where he lives were throwing out his mail. He is a green card holder and I have received sample ballots in the mail for him at my business address - which means he is registered to vote. I know he absolutely did not do anything to register to vote, the people at NJ MVC did it without his permission or knowledge. He knows he cannot and has not voted, but how many other people has this happened to who are voting? This was going on several years before the “glitch” Mikie is talking about from 2023-2024.

What NJ considers an illegal alien is not the same as the rest of the country. I wonder how many illegals were issued licenses based on NJ’s interpretation of what is legal and what’s not.

If NJ can make up terms and names for firearms, they are gonna do t elsewhere too, like ehhh (s)he isn’t really an illegal…just give 'em a regular DL (and register them to vote too while ya at it).

If I were a betting man, I’d venture that the ‘6000’ is probably 10x that. Probably much more than that.

Exactly, DHS thinks it’s at least 6X that amount… Explains why Mikie has no intention of working with the administration. I hope Mullin grows a pair, and forces the issue.

If Mikie was willing to come out and admit there’s a “small” issue, where normally they would totally ignore it, you have to believe it’s a lot worse, and they’re trying to get in front of it, and control the narrative.

Once the investigation reveals it’s 10’s of thousands, she’ll just say, “well, we admitted there were some issues”.

Typical Liberal playbook.

20 + years ago DMV automatically registered you to vote when you got your license renewal I’ll bet the number is in the hundreds of thousands

Of course it is worse. This is basically a childrens old trick to con parents. Get caught doing something really bad and cop to doing something bad but not what you were actually doing. There were claims of fraud so she “investigated” fraud and found just a tiny amount, nothing to worry about, all fixed up, move along… take a soma pill before you go.

It could be a LOT more than 6,600:

Estimated Number of Undocumented Immigrants with Driver’s Licenses in New Jersey

Current Context

In New Jersey, approximately 466,000 undocumented immigrants are of driving age and would be eligible to apply for a driver’s license under the proposed universal access legislation.

Expected Licenses Issued

  • It is estimated that 233,000 of these eligible individuals would likely receive a driver’s license within the first three years of implementation. This represents a 3.8% increase in the total number of licensed drivers in the state.

We will find this is a LOT bigger than your Governor is making it out to be.

Many other states are guilty of this. I’m looking at you, California.
