IN ANJRPC MAG BAN / AW BAN APPEAL
On Wednesday, October 15 at 9:30 a.m. a middle-level U.S. appeals court will rehear appeals of previous rulings in ANJRPC’s magazine ban and “assault” firearm cases, this time in front of the full appeals court (rather than just a three judge panel). The decision that ultimately comes from the full court will be the mid-level court’s final word on these issues, and could overturn New Jersey law.
Gun owners can listen to this important oral argument live by clicking here on Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. (shortly before the argument begins, a “LIVE” button will appear at that link which also needs to be clicked to listen live).
In 2024, the lower court in the case issued and odd mixed decision (see original alert by clicking here). The appeal was then heard by a three judge appeals panel in July of this year, but before that panel even issued a ruling, the full appeals court decided to intervene to rehear the case, which will occur tomorrow morning. There is no deadline for a ruling following tomorrow’s argument.
However the Third Circuit ultimately rules, the magazine ban and “assault” firearms issues are also percolating in other courts throughout the United States. The issues may ultimately have to be resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The ridiculous thing about that statement recognized by the 6 Circuits, did he pick any conservative Circuit Courts for 2nd Amendment positions? Not bloody likely. I also checked the list of judges for today’s argument. Even if they bring in another judge for Mascott (don’t think that’s likely) there are 22 total judges to pick from. Here’s the numbers 13 from Conservative Presidents and 9 from Liberal Presidents.
Just go to the 3rd Circuit website this AM and look for oral arguments. I think they post on YouTube too.
